What Is NanoBond™ and How Does It Work?
Tri-Ag • October 27, 2026

WHAT you apply matters. But so does HOW it gets into the plant.

That’s the thinking behind Yield Delivery, a family of nanotechnology products from Yield Innovations designed to help improve plant uptake, nutrient mobility and nutrient-use efficiency.

At the center of that technology is NanoBond™.

Traditionally, many active ingredients enter plant cells through pathways like diffusion or ion transport, moving across the cell membrane one molecule at a time.

NanoBond™ introduces another pathway: endocytosis.

Because NanoBond nanoparticles can carry active ingredient molecules, the plant cell membrane can engulf the loaded particle and bring it inside through an endocytosis vesicle, allowing many molecules to be delivered together rather than individually.

Small technology. Big goal: better delivery.

As you evaluate what worked this season and start building your 2028 crop plan, don’t just ask what you’re going to apply. Ask how you can deliver it more efficiently.

Some fertilizer forms require considerably more soil moisture to dissolve and become available. That means nutrient source matters, especially during cool or dry conditions when moisture may limit nutrient release. “We’ve worked with Yield Innovations for several years, and their tailored systems approach has been a major advantage. Their focus on nutrient uptake ensures the products we use reach the crop quickly and efficiently. Season after season, this has made a measurable difference in our operation.”

Overapplying fertilizer can increase salt pressure around the seed and roots, making it harder for the plant to absorb water and nutrients. The right rate, source, timing, and placement help feed the crop without overwhelming it.
