Stand Count Matters
Tri-Ag • May 20, 2026

Stand counts matter more than you think.

Low stand counts can have a major impact on yield potential, especially in corn where plant population is critical. Soybeans can compensate better, but extremely low populations can still cost you yield.

Stand counts help identify issues early, including:

  • Poor germination
  • Insect damage
  • Disease pressure
  • Emergence problems

They also help confirm whether populations are where they need to be for optimum performance and whether additional management decisions, including replant considerations, need to be made.

Have a Tri-Ag agronomist check your fields today so small issues do not turn into bigger problems later.
