Now is the time to scout fields, not panic.
Over the next 7 to 14 days, keep a close eye on how crops respond as conditions dry out and sunshine returns.
In corn, watch for:
• Yellowing or pale color, which may signal nitrogen or sulfur loss
• Brown or slimy roots from oxygen stress or disease pressure
• Uneven growth in low areas
• Sidewall compaction or crusting
• Ponding that lasted longer than 48 hours
In soybeans, watch for:
• Yellow or stunted plants
• Dead or inactive nodules
• Root rot in wetter areas
• Herbicide injury showing up stronger after saturated conditions
Biggest reminder:
dig plants. Don’t just road scout.
Healthy roots should be white, firm, and actively growing.
At Tri-Ag, we’re helping growers evaluate root health, nitrogen loss, sulfur deficiency, stand survivability, and recovery options.
Scout with purpose. Farm with purpose.
